Inter Parfums Unveils Solferino Fragrance Line and Longchamp Collaboration
Inter Parfums, a prominent entity in the fragrance industry, is broadening its portfolio beyond licensed scents with the introduction of its exclusive luxury perfume line, Solférino. This strategic pivot into direct-to-consumer high-end fragrances was previously hinted at, and now, the collection is officially making its debut. Concurrently, the company has forged a significant partnership with the renowned luxury leather goods manufacturer, Longchamp, under a new licensing agreement.
The Solférino collection, named after the Parisian street where Inter Parfums has its headquarters, draws inspiration from various iconic locations and moments across the City of Light. Each of the nine distinct fragrances within the range is meticulously crafted by master perfumers from leading houses such as Givaudan, IFF, and dsm-Firmenich. These compositions aim to capture the essence of Parisian elegance and vibrancy, with names like “RÊVERIE SUR SEINE,” “10, SOLFÉRINO,” “THÉ AU PALAIS ROYAL,” “FOLIES À MONTMARTRE,” “UN SAMEDI A PARIS,” “PARIS RADIEUX,” “MINUIT RUE PRINCESSE,” “UN BAISER PLACE VENDÔME,” “COUP DE FOUDRE QUAI VOLTAIRE,” and “L’ÉTÉ AVENUE GABRIEL.” The collection showcases a diverse olfactive palette, ranging from woody and floral to gourmand and leathery notes, each telling a unique Parisian story. These premium fragrances are now available in France at Publicis and in the UK at Selfridges, with a wider distribution planned for later in the year, culminating in the opening of a dedicated Solférino boutique in Paris this September.
Further demonstrating its ambitious expansion, Inter Parfums has entered into a licensing agreement with Longchamp, a move that is expected to diversify the fashion brand's offerings into the fragrance sector. Philippe Benacin, Chairman and CEO of Interparfums SA, expressed strong optimism regarding this collaboration, highlighting Longchamp’s brand recognition and creative codes as valuable assets for developing successful fragrance lines. Jean Cassegrain, CEO of Longchamp, echoed this enthusiasm, emphasizing a cooperative spirit focused on authenticity, energy, and creative curiosity. This partnership is set to launch its first co-created fragrance in 2027, promising an exciting new chapter for both companies.
This strategic dual announcement by Inter Parfums underscores a forward-looking vision and a commitment to innovation within the global luxury market. By launching its own high-end brand and securing a significant licensing deal, the company is poised for substantial growth and enhanced market presence. Such ventures exemplify how businesses can evolve and expand their influence by embracing new opportunities and collaborations, ultimately enriching the consumer experience with diverse and quality offerings.
