Liberty London Unveils 'Liberty 1875' Fragrance

Liberty London has expanded its LBTY fragrance line with the introduction of 'Liberty 1875,' a new Eau de Parfum. This latest creation celebrates the department store's 150-year legacy, with packaging artfully designed by Esther Gamsu, a 2025 Royal Academy Schools graduate.

'Liberty 1875' is an enchanting and unconventional floral scent, crafted to transport the wearer to a wood-paneled room imbued with a century and a half of history, filled with subtle laughter and the lingering aroma of rich tobacco smoke. This scene is imagined as being prepared for an evening affair, adorned with opulent Indian tuberose flowers, creating an irresistible blend of notes. The fragrance aims to capture the essence of animated discussions from past nights, with prominent notes of tuberose, jasmine, and ylang-ylang settling into a comforting base of vanilla, earthy spices, and tobacco, promising an unforgettable olfactory experience.

Perfumer Clement Gavarry conceptualized 'Liberty 1875' by envisioning a smoking room rich with the scents of aged wood and tobacco, suddenly transformed by the captivating presence of Indian tuberose. He was particularly drawn to the contrast between the robust, masculine character of wood and tobacco and the soft, feminine allure of the heady florals. This interplay creates a beautiful tension, symbolizing the convergence of historical whispers with infinite possibilities, adding a profound depth that speaks of time and stories. The fragrance is further enriched with additional notes of bergamot, juniper, and coumarin, and is available in 8 ml and 100 ml Eau de Parfum concentrations.

This fragrance embodies Liberty London's enduring spirit of innovation and tradition. It is a testament to the brand's rich heritage, blending elements of its past with contemporary artistry. By evoking a sense of nostalgia while embracing modern design, 'Liberty 1875' serves as an inspiration, reminding us that true beauty often lies in the harmonious fusion of diverse elements and the stories they tell across generations.
