Miu Miu Ascends to Top Spot in Latest Luxury Fashion Index, Footwear Dominates Product Rankings

In the evolving landscape of high fashion, Miu Miu has once again distinguished itself, ascending to the pinnacle of the Lyst Index, a key barometer of brand and product popularity. This quarterly assessment, which synthesizes extensive global data, underscores not only Miu Miu's resurgence but also significant shifts in consumer purchasing habits, particularly a pronounced inclination towards unique and practical footwear. The report also sheds light on the strategic movements of other prominent houses, indicating a vibrant and competitive luxury sector.

The current iteration of the Lyst Index, which compiles insights from 160 million annual shoppers, digital searches, conversion rates, sales figures, and social media engagement, positions Miu Miu at the forefront. This marks a notable rebound for the Italian fashion house, which previously ceded the top spot to Loewe. Close behind, its sister label, Prada, secured a strong fourth place, reinforcing the powerful influence of the Prada Group. The index also welcomed new entrants, with Birkenstock making its debut at 19th and Burberry rejoining the top 20 after a year's absence, landing at 17th, signaling a successful strategic revitalization.

A striking trend identified in the Q2 2025 report is the commanding presence of footwear in the list of the ten most sought-after products, occupying six of the slots. This dominance reflects a broader consumer demand for items that merge functionality with distinctive design, particularly in a period of economic fluidity. Among these, The Row's $690 Dune sandal claimed the top position, experiencing a remarkable 162 percent surge in searches. This minimalist design's popularity was further amplified by its appearance on British actor Jonathan Bailey, propelling The Row to its highest-ever brand ranking at sixth.

Beyond The Row's success, Miu Miu's suede loafers, Vibram FiveFinger's V-Soul flats, and Ancient Greek Sandals' studded Iro Ballet Flats secured prominent positions. The Vibram style alone saw search interest double. While sneakers were less prevalent, Prada's Re-Nylon and suede version, alongside Isabel Marant's wedge sneakers—a nod to Y2K fashion—still made the cut. Non-footwear items included sportswear-inspired pieces like a Skims tank top and Adidas shorts, reflecting a preference for comfortable, heat-suitable attire. The only accessory to feature was a shell pendant necklace from New York-based jewelry brand Juju Vera.

Looking at emerging trends, French fashion house Chloé climbed one spot to eighth on the brand list, with searches increasing by a third. COS, a high-street brand from H&M Group, maintained its seventh position, demonstrating the enduring appeal of accessible fashion within the luxury sphere. Burberry's re-entry into the top 20 is particularly noteworthy, following its 'Burberry Forward' revamp strategy and British-centric campaigns such as Highgrove, Festival, and High Summer editorials, which have successfully rekindled consumer interest. Italian fashion brand Pucci also experienced a substantial 96 percent rise in searches, thanks in part to collaborations and its popularity among style influencers like Hailey Bieber and Dua Lipa. Other brands gaining traction include Dutch label Róhe and American eyewear company Jacques Marie Mage, indicating a diverse range of brands capturing market attention.

This quarter's Lyst Index offers a compelling snapshot of the luxury market's dynamic nature, with Miu Miu's ascent and the strong performance of footwear signaling key shifts in consumer priorities. The success of brands like Burberry and Pucci also highlights the importance of strategic repositioning and impactful collaborations in maintaining relevance and driving growth within this competitive industry.
